Bengali Food Festival
Dinner Buffet At Paprika
Last evening, I visited the Paprika restaurant at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. The dinner buffet had a lavish spread that included Indian, Mexican and European salads, soups and breads, appetizers, main course, and desserts. There was a selection of Bengali starters, main course dishes, and desserts.
Note: if you are a non-veg eater, you are definitely in for a special treat.
Ten Dishes I Tasted:
1. Annachi Karu Veppalai
2. Oven Roasted Mushroom and Corn Salad
5. Aloo Chop
7. Malai Chum Chum
8. Vegetable Wheat Roll
9. Paneer Butter Masala
10. Aloo Dum
Top 4 Favourite Dishes
a) Potato and Leeks Soup - it is a french classic but this one had a slight twist with cumin seeds in it. Since it was an Indian version, it was a little watery versus thick and creamy. I really liked it because it was delicious and had the right temperature (not too hot).
b) Balsamic vinegar Tomato and Feta Cheese - It was packed with flavours and the tomatoes were blanched
c) Vegetarian Pizza - Thin crusted with plenty of vegetables and lots of cheese
d) Mishti Pulao - It had a distinct sweetness and bright yellow hue which gave this pulao a unique character of its own and had become a hot favourite among us who went to eat.
The festival is running till 30th September 2019, so do visit and have a feast. You could meet the new chef too and get to learn from him about the different food that is being served.
