South Indian Vegetarian Breakfast | Sri Krishna Sweets
It was my first time at this newly renovated restaurant inside Sri Krishna Sweets on Venkatnarayana road in T Nagar. The seating is different from other restaurants. The first impression I got upon entering is of a dinner hall at a wedding hall except that the tables and chairs are sidelined.
Customer Loyalty | Sri Krishna Sweets
Once we entered the restaurant, the staff came to us, welcomed us with a big smile and inquired about our well being. One of the staffs even fell at my dad’s feet to get his blessings. We as a family have been loyal customers to Sri Krishna Sweets for nearly 2 decades now.
We visited the eatery for breakfast. The moment we sat on the cushioned chair, the staffs laid the banana leaf on the table, cleaned it with water, and also served hot water (upon request) to drink.
While my father ordered for a plate of idli, I was thinking what to eat, and immediately the staff asked me if I’d be interested to eat mini tiffin that comes with Rava Kesari. I was skeptical about Rava Kesari as it is usually pineapple based or pineapple essence based which I don’t eat. But the staff said it is just colouring that has been added to the Rava Kesari, and asked me to taste one spoonful. I agreed and tasted. It was really delicious and was so soft that it melted the moment I put it my mouth.
Idli and Medu Vada
Though I was tempted to order the mini tiffin, I stuck to eating Idli and Medu Vada. The Idli was very soft, the #Vada was hot and crispy as it should be. The Sambar was hot and delicious with all the necessary spices. The different type of Chutneys were served too as customary. One of my favourites was the spicy Chutney.
Upon finishing the first round, I ordered for a plain #Dosa which was long and a little crispy and without oil as requested. But after the Dosa was served there was none to serve Chutneys and Sambar. By the time someone came to serve them, the Dosa got a little cold. Sadly, the Chutneys that were served this time were cold and I’m guessing it came out from the refrigerator. However, the Sambar was piping hot. I loved the Medu Vada so much that I ordered one more. My dad ordered for Ven Pongal, and after we left the restaurant he indicated that this was by far the best Ven Pongal he ate in many months anywhere.
Filter Coffee | Brass Cup Set
By the end of second round, we were a happy duo with our stomach almost full and left with a tiny bit of space to wash it down with filter #Coffee. While my dad ordered for a sugarless filter Coffee, I ordered for a strong Coffee with sugar. They were served in a brass cup set (Tumbler and Saucer) which maintain the heat. We enjoyed the perfect Coffee (Kaapi) after a sumptuous Breakfast.
When my dad stood up from his chair to walk to the wash basin, a staff member held his hand to give him support and walked him to ensure he doesn’t fall down as he is a little old and struggles to walk. Now that is what I call #humanity and #service. Kudos to the staff. Excellent hospitality! Sri Krishna Sweets are known for giving a personal touch to their customers.
